Our Chapter History

The Emerald City Chapter was established in 2010 and officially chartered on March 10, 2012. It began with the vision and energy of Janet Devereux, founding member and first Emerald City Chapter President. In 2008, Janet and her family moved to the Seattle area from Northern California, where Janet had begun to form the Mid-Peninsula Chapter. Determined for her two daughters to share the NCL Experience with her, she eagerly began the process of creating the Emerald City Chapter. With the addition of the Class of 2022, the Chapter has 230 members from 14 different schools – a huge accomplishment in 6 short years!

Our Chapter honors the traditions and heritage of the chapters that came before us. In 2012, Emerald City Chapter held its first Mother-Daughter Tea at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Seattle, hosting over 150 mothers and their daughters. In 2013, our Emerald City Chapter celebrated its first Senior Recognition, graduating the class of 2013 which included Janet Devereux’s oldest daughter, Emily. This year we will celebrate the accomplishments of our Seniors from the Class of 2019 at the Overlake Golf & Country Club.
